October 2005 - Griffith & District Cricket Association endorses PalmCricket

Following the successful completion of the P-Viewer exports to CricketStatz format, the Griffith and District Cricket Association (New South Wales, Australia) officially moved across to Palmcricket for scoring A and B grade matches for the new 2005/2006 cricket season. The Association purchased 8 Palm handheld units from local suppliers and licensed the use of Palmcricket directly with Multi-Media Publications. Although other associations, notably in the UK and USA, have standardised on Palmcricket on an informal basis, Griffith & District is the first to endorse the use of Palmcricket officially via an association-wide licence.

All this occurred on the initiative of Paul Josling, who was also the driving force behind the recent development of P-Viewer's export of Palmcricket matches to CricketStatz. This combination of Palmcricket, P-Viewer and CricketStatz opens up new possibilities for any association, club or school interested in accurate scoring and tracking of player performances throughout the season.

We wish Griffith & District the best of luck with their innovative thinking. During the current season, we will do our best to report back regularly on their progress in embracing this new technology...
