A. Installing Palmcricket on the handheld computer:
---------------------------------------------------
This file explains manual installation of Palmcricket
onto a single hand-held Palm device that runs on PalmOs.

Note:
It is preferable to use PalmcricketSetup150.exe to install
Palmcricket 1.50 on all hand-held Palm devices linked to the
Palm Desktop on the Windows desktop or laptop computer.
See 1stReadThisSetup.txt for details.

Manual installation using the standard Palm Hotsync facility:
-------------------------------------------------------------
The Palm Desktop software must already be installed on the
desktop computer with Hotsync working correctly. If not yet
in place, consult the documentation provided with the handheld
unit, install the Palm Desktop software and ensure that the
Hotsync process between the handheld unit and the desktop
computer is working.

Then install Palmcricket on the handheld using the following
steps:

1. On the desktop computer, place the Pcri.prc file into the folder:

      C:\Program Files\Palm\Add-on

or equivalent folder. The exact location will depend on the
handheld unit, the version of the Palm Desktop software
and the desktop operating system. Any other suitable folder
    may also be used.

2. Use the Install or Quick Install buttons on the Palm Desktop
software to add the Palmcricket program file:

      Pcri.prc

which can be located in the folder specified in step 1. Use
the "Add" button and the "look-in" drop-down box on the
Quick Install window to navigate to the correct folder to
locate the file. Highlight the file by clicking on it, then
either drag it into the add-on frame in the Palm Desktop or
click the "Open" button or simply double-click on the
file, to add it to the list of file to install.

As an option, any or all of the following sample
Cricket World Cup 2003 teams can also be installed:

      Australia.pdb
      Bangladesh.pdb
      Canada.pdb
      England.pdb
      India.pdb
      Kenya.pdb
      Namibia.pdb
      New Zealand.pdb
      Pakistan.pdb
      South Africa.pdb
      Sri Lanka.pdb
      The Netherlands.pdb
      West Indies.pdb
      Zimbabwe.pdb

These can be added in the same way as for Pcri.prc, using
the "Add" button and the "look-in" drop-down box.

3. Once the selected files appear in the list of files to be
installed, initiate the Hotsync function by tapping on the
Star on the handheld unit or pressing the button on the
Hotsync cable (the exact Hotsync trigger depends on the Palm
    handheld unit).

After completion of the Hotsync process, Palmcricket should
appear on the main menu of the handheld, as an icon
with three wickets and a ball, labled "Pcricket"

4. Tap on the Pcricket icon, on the Palm handheld.

5. Start scoring!

Palmcricket version 1.50 requires no registration. Teams
are handled internally, and PcrTeams.pcr is no longer required.

Download location:
------------------

Palmcricket files have been "unbundled" into separate components for
convenient minimum-sized zip files, all available from
a single web-site located at:

    http://www.palmcricket.com

Click on the download button on the home page to access the
download page for the following:

1. The Palmcricket handheld scoring software, Pcri.prc.

Download and install the latest Palmcricket release.

2. The P-Viewer program P-Viewer.exe (only works
on Windows 95 or later desktop operating systems).

Palmcricket score-sheets that have been transferred
from the handheld device to a Windows desk top computer via
the Palm Hotsync procedure or SD card can be viewed, printed or
    exported using P-Viewer.

P-Viewer' automatic setup procedure will place a P-Viewer icon
on the desktop, simplifying the installation of P-Viewer.

The Viewer comes with a complete HTML help file, P-Viewer.chm,
which includes comprehensive documentation for Palmcricket.
Reading the documentation is highly recommended, as we
will not always answer questions which are already
    explained in the documentation.

3. Stand-alone Palmcricket user guides in HTML or PDF format.

The HTML zip file contains a single HTML file and some 110
images in GIF format. These should all be unzipped to a
single directory from where the HTML file can be
viewed/printed from within any internet browser software.

The PDF file can be viewed using Adobe Acrobat Reader.

On-Line documentation:
----------------------

Complete documentation is also available on-line on the Palmcricket
web-site at:

Print Server:
-------------

Some users may not require the infra-red print facility,
or the latest release may already have been installed on
the handheld. The Stevens Creek Software print server,
SCSPrint.prc can be downloaded from:

    http://www.stevenscreek.com/
